Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Our business was set up by a number of senior managers who were previously employed by British Gas at their Engineering Research Station at Newcastle Upon Tyne. The company was formed in October 1995 following the closure of the research establishment. The founding members realised that there was a market for their skills and knowledge within a privatised and competitive energy market.

We were originally based at Sunderland in small offices on a business park. However, due to rapid expansion, it was necessary to find larger and more appropriate premises, and we moved to Cramlington in 2000.

Our founding directors have well over 100 years of experience between them related to all aspects of gas and water engineering, pipeline materials and equipment. We originally offered consulting services but soon saw the opportunity to provide pipeline condition assessment and asset management services both within the gas and water sectors. We have since developed our own pipeline inspection equipment and related condition assessment and life prediction techniques based on a statistical modelling and are rapidly becoming recognised as one of the leading companies in this field.

In October 2017 the business was acquired by South Staffordshire Plc to operate alongside our sister company Hydrosave.
