The European Directive on the limitation of emissions of certain pollutants into the air from medium combustion plants
The AES team has been busy testing water bath heater burner flue gas emissions all around the North of England to investigate Emission Limit Values (ELVs) for upcoming environmental legislation.
Not only can the emission recordings help our customers meet new and existing Directives, but they also improve process efficiency by giving an insight into areas where incomplete combustion may be occurring.
In 2025 and 2030 respectively, limits derived for across Europe come into force and set emissions levels for new and existing medium combustion plants. These limits will also be applied in the UK.
The rules cover emissions of sulphur dioxide (SO2), nitrogen oxides (NOx) and dust into the air from plants with a capacity between 1MW-50MW.
AES can record the temperature and oxygen, CO and NOx levels. This analysis provides sufficient information to enable clients to understand how each individual burner and water bath heater is operating, and any action required to bring them in line with the Directive.
