Condition Assessment

HAVING A CLEAR PICTURE OF THE STRUCTURAL STATUS OF WATER PIPELINES IS A CRUCIAL PART OF ANY WATER COMPANY’S ASSET MANAGEMENT PROGRAMME.

As a water sector engineering specialist, assessing the condition of operational pipelines is one of our core services. We help you predict current and future leakage risks, as well as the structural performance capability of your in-service water and sewage pipelines.

Our service helps you more confidently and carefully target your maintenance and replacement activities and costs.

OUR SERVICE

We carry out detailed water pipeline inspections at selected locations, sharing with you both statistical and structural analysis.

Locations are chosen where the pipe wall condition is most likely to be representative of the overall condition of the pipeline being inspected. At these locations, our specialist engineers externally inspect a one-meter length of the pipe around its full circumference recording the condition of the pipe coating, pipe environment and internal and external pipe wall faces.

Our team of engineers analyses the inspection data to give you a clear estimate of both current and future patterns of leakage and structural failures under the applied pressure and external loading.

Types of water pipeline we investigate

Our major pipeline assessment activities are largely conducted on steel and iron water pipelines. However, our team also undertakes condition assessments for PE, PVC, GRP and asbestos cement pipelines.
